Are your filing cabinets and desk drawers cluttered? On Saturday, May 12th, the Miami County Solid Waste District will offer free document shredding service for county residents. This event will be held at the old Miami County Garage, just south of the fairgrounds at 603 Harrison Street.
Shredding will be provided by Crowe Shredding, a provider of confidential file destruction – documents will be safely and securely shredded on-site, and shredded documents will be recycled.
The event is free for Miami County residents, who may bring up to four file boxes of documents for destruction. Paper clips, staples and plastic cards can be shredded, but please remove pages from heavy binders and accordion folders.
Come early, as this event is first-come first-serve. The spring shredding event held last May brought in over 13,000 pounds of paper from residents, filling the shred truck! October's shredding event brought in nearly 11,000 pound of paper.
For questions about this event, please or call the Miami County Solid Waste District Office office Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 937-440-3488.
