Medication flushed down the toilet or placed into the trash can poison groundwater, and medicines that languish in home cabinets are highly susceptible to diversion, misuse, and abuse. Please take unused medication to a designated drop-off:

Sharps Disposal
Medical sharps, including lancets and needles, pose a health hazard for children, pets, and waste workers—anyone with potential contact with these hazardous items.
Needles can go into the regular trash or taken to a designated sharps drop off. Residents must package sharps properly: Use a wide mouth heavy plastic container with a tight lid (such as a detergent or fabric softener container.) Close the container and seal with masking or heavy adhesive tape.
The Miami County Solid Waste District now sponsors medical sharp drop-offs at four locations in Miami County:
